Potential Vendors:
The Town of Ferdinand and the Ferdinand Chamber of Commerce are pleased to announce the call for a variety of vendors for our first Ferdinand Folk Festival on Saturday, September 18, from 12:00 noon EDT until 8:00 pm EDT. The festival will have an earth-friendly, family-friendly theme. We have renowned, nationally-touring musicians and numerous workshops lined up as well as some wonderful activities for children—and we welcome a variety of art/artisan, environmental and wellness education, farmers’ market, and food vendors. The Ferdinand Folk Festival will be highly advertised locally and in the Evansville, Louisville, Bloomington, and Indianapolis markets. We anticipate a large, diverse crowd. VENDOR INFORMATION
ART/ARTISAN VENDORS: The festival committee requests that you sell local, hand-crafted items made by the vendor—works that feature the unique talents of local and regional artists. Mass-produced items are not appropriate for the festival. Examples of requested items include woven rugs, jewelry, pottery, paintings, homemade clothing, photography, greeting cards, and other creative items. Please submit photograph(s) of proposed merchandise with the enclosed form. Booth rental is $30 for a 10’ x10’ area and table. Booth rental may be shared by more than one artisan.
FOOD VENDORS: If at all possible, food vendors are asked to honor the festival’s environmental theme by serving food and drinks in earth-friendly containers. Several recycling stations will be available in an effort to reduce waste in the park. Booth rental is $30 for a 10’ x 10’ area and table.
ENVIRONMENTAL AND WELLNESS EDUCATION VENDORS: In a spirit of promoting a healthy environment and healthy communities, groups and individuals may share/demonstrate a variety of education and services including sustainable, green living ideas, alternative renewable energy ideas, creating wildlife habitats, healthy dieting, organic farming, tree trimming tips, recycling ideas, recycled or used books, etc. Booth rental is $20 for a 10’ x 10’ area and table, and a booth may be shared by more than one person or group.
FARMER’S MARKET VENDORS: Local or area farmers/gardeners are invited to provide locally grown and locally produced items. In addition to home-grown produce, other welcomed items may include honey, baked goods, plants, flowers, homemade soaps, new or used books, etc. A fee of $5 will be charged to farmers’ market vendors for permission to set up in the designated market space.
Any additional booth needs (tent, chairs, etc.) shall be supplied by the vendor (not the Ferdinand Folk Festival, please). Booth vendors are asked to display their goods in an eye-catching and festive manner. Entire payment must be sent with the attached reservation form to guarantee review by the Folk Festival committee. You will soon be notified if your booth is accepted. If your booth is not accepted this year, your check and any photographs sent will be returned to you in a prompt manner. Applications will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis and on the nature of items proposed for sale. If accepted and you have to cancel, there will be no refunds and no credit toward a future event. All booths are outside in the park. This event will take place rain or shine. Set-up time is Saturday, September 18, 7 a.m. – 11 a.m. The Festival is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or broken merchandise.
