Weatherford, from Evansville, Indiana, began training in the Chinese style of martial art in 1977. His kung fu teacher, Sifu David Hobgood, included Tai Chi along with martial art training. Ron received his 1st degree Black Sash in Tai Lung Kuen Tao in 1980 and his 2nd degree in 1983. To enhance what he had learned about Tai Chi during his martial art training, he began a life-long study of Chi Gung and Tai Chi. From about 1985 through today, he has studied many different methods and styles as well as the study of Reiki. Since 1996, he has been teaching martial art, Chi Gung, and Tai Chi on a full-time basis along with sharing Reiki as the need arises. In recent years, he has trained with Tai Chi Master Margaret Muskoph and Chi Gung Master Kenneth Cohen at their seminars in Ferdinand.
