Inspired by the children's story, The Story of Ferdinand, written in 1936 by Munro Leaf, this mini-musical is the culmination of a children's theater class offered to local students this summer through Project ACORN - Ferdinand's new year-round arts, music, environment, and wellness program. Nine children, ages 5 to 11 will share their singing and acting talents, after spending the summer learning a variety of acting skills through interactive play. The story of "Ferdinand the Bull (The Musical)" shares the experiences of a young bull who does not like to fight as his peers do. Ferdinand must be who he is, no matter what others expect of him.
