Congratulations to Anna Wrasse of Bloomington, IN for winning in the Ferdinand Folk Festival Singer-Songwriter Showcase for 2016. Anna won the "Under 18" category and will be performing on the Kyana Woodstock Market Stage during this year's Festival.

Anna Wrasse is an eighth grade student from Bloomington, Indiana, with a huge passion for music, writing and performing. Anna began playing piano at age six, picked up guitar at ten, and began performing her own songs at twelve. Now at thirteen, Anna has performed over twenty-five times at various venues in Bloomington and recently self-published At Night, her first CD of original songs. She also travels and competes with BEAT Syncopation show choir.
Music Inspiration/Quote: "I love the way music connects people. My musical journey has been influenced by my grandfather who recently passed from Alzheimer’s Disease. I learned that as my grandfather’s disease progressed I could still reach him through music. I wrote my song 'At Night' from my grandfather’s point of view, as someone suffering from memory loss. My music tells stories of my personal experiences that I hope are relatable to others."
