Music Jam Session
- Category: Folk Fest News
All day, upper shelterhouse
Led by dulcimer player John Sheckler, musicians and singer-songwriters with all levels and styles of music are invited to bring an instrument to jam with friends. The jam area is great for beginners needing an outlet to perform with others and possibly get guidance from more experienced musicians. Keeping time in sync with a group is a common struggle for many artists. The pace and atmosphere of the Folk Fest jam are supportive and novice-friendly, offering music, friendship, networking, and a chance to express oneself. Everyone is sure to enjoy the intimate, welcoming environment of the jam area. Sheckler is from Madison, Indiana, home to the renowned, annual RiverRoots Music and Arts Festival, held in early June on the banks of the beautiful Ohio River in the heart of the historic town famous for its well-preserved architecture and nature.
