American singer-songwriter, recording artist, and famous lead guitarist Jason Wilber, will perform a benefit concert for the Ferdinand Folk Festival on Sunday, August 6, 2017, from 4:00 - 6:00 pm ET, at St. Benedict's Brew Works at 860 E 10th Street, in Ferdinand, Indiana. Doors will open at 3:00 pm ET. For advance online tickets, visit https://www.itickets.com/events/383200.html or www.ferdinandfolkfestival.com.
St. Benedict’s Brew Works will revive their 70-seat listening room—the former theatre in the Marian Heights Academy’s Art Studio—to host the Bloomington artist and lead guitarist for John Prine. Wilber is excited to return to perform another fundraiser concert for the Festival. A prolific singer-songwriter, Jason has released 11 albums, including his brand new record, Reaction Time, inspired by his life experiences traveling the world while on tour as lead guitarist with country/folk icon John Prine. This record compiles his journal observations set to beautiful melodies. In Wilber’s 20-year journey with Prine, the Grammy-winning singer, songwriter, guitarist, and producer has performed on the Grand Ole Opry, Austin City Limits, and Red Rocks Amphitheatre, and on Conan O’Brien, David Letterman, Stephen Colbert, and Seth Myers. Tickets are $15 each or two for $25, and are available online at https://www.itickets.com/events/383200.html, and on the homepage www.ferdinandfolkfestival. Since the intimate theatre has limited seats, all are encouraged to purchase tickets early. Doors to the theatre will open at 3:00 pm ET, and exciting new festival merchandise will be available. Open to ages 21 and over, the concert is a community partnership with Project ACORN, with all proceeds benefitting the Folk Fest.
The Ferdinand Folk Festival's annual area Singer-Songwriter Showcase is also coming up soon, on Saturday, August 19; so patrons are encouraged to save the date. The details will be announced soon.
