A veteran of the 2011 Folk Festival’s Market Stage, singer/songwriter Andrea Wirth describes herself as a ‘Folk & Roller’, bringing life, laughter, & love alive on the stage with her rich voice. With a cross range of vocal influences being heard from her- including Janice Joplin, Stevie Nicks, Bonnie Raitt, Melissa Etheridge, Natalie Merchant, and lyrical influences, Emily Saliers of the Indigo Girls, Tori Amos, and more recently, Brandi Carli…le, said of Wirth, ‘’I enjoy exploring the depths of the emotional ride of life through the songs I have penned ~ I believe that is where the audience and I truly connect.”
Accompanying herself on guitar or piano, she says “The chemistry flow of the voice intertwining appropriately with the music is almost as intricate a marriage as the beautiful energy exchange between me and the audience… like a wonderful tapestry woven throughout each performance~ in the spirit of togetherness.”
Always on the move to create exciting energy, she also enjoys playing with her band, The Dirty Lil Fun*Havers. The success of their first cd, entitled ‘’Something to Hold Onto’’ has gained attention regionally, and she, both solo and with her band, has developed many friendships and fans from as far as New York, New England, down to Mississippi and Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, and of course, her home state of Indiana.
Keeping up with this diverse performer is tricky, but she enjoys keeping her friends and fans ‘up-to-date’ on facebook and can be found there @ www.andrea.wirth@facebook.com .
